      Types of bubble wrap

As a manufacturer of bubble wrap we offer our Customers a wide variety of products and prices far beyond reach of our competitors. Foil with air bubbles comes in two variants: two-layer and three-layer. The two-layer variant includes light bubble wrap (B-1) and reinforced bubble wrap (B-2). Three-layer foil, perfect for securing fragile materials, comes in two variants: regular (B-3) and reinforced (B-4).

We produce bubble wrap in sheets, bags made of bubble wrap, as well as sleeves (sealing on two edges) and half-sleeves (sealing on one side) that can be torn off from a roll. We offer bubble wrap in 0.15 to 1.8 m wide and 30 to 150 g/m2 thick rolls. A regular roll of bubble wrap contains 100 m of product.

Sheets, interlayers, bags, sleeves and half-sleeves are made according to the Customer’s preferences, considering the indicated size and thickness of foil. The level of protection depends on the latter parameter. On Customer’s request we can make practical perforation and long-lasting digital print to display the company name.

How can you reduce the time and cost of packaging using bubble wrap?

      • Order custom-sized products and save

If you order standard rolls with a width of 120 cm but only use 110 cm in your warehouse, you are wasting 10 cm of material on each roll and generating waste that needs to be disposed of.

At Mac-Graf, you can place an order for materials tailored to your needs – in this case, rolls with a width of 110 cm.

      • Standardize the amount of material used

You order bubble wrap on a roll, but feel that each employee is using a different amount of it, even though you are selling products of similar size?

Test a packaging system using perforated rolls (which makes tearing the material easier) or pre-made sheets, sleeves, or half-sleeves. This way, the amount of material used in each package is consistent, which can result in real time and material cost savings in practice.

      • Reduce the number of layers of packaging materials.

Do you wrap products in cardboard and then bubble wrap?

Check if the same effect can be achieved with just one material! A laminate of bubble wrap and PE foam is durable, provides excellent shock absorption, and is uniform in terms of recycling.

It’s worth discussing with your supplier the options that could reduce packaging costs – some of these solutions might be implemented in your company!

      • Choose bags for packaging small items.

Do you sell products in parts? Or perhaps you add items like assembly kits to the main product?

You can effectively protect them by packaging them in pre-made bubble wrap bags. This speeds up the packing process and reduces material usage (it’s cheaper to place the product in a bag than to wrap it multiple times).

Want to stand out? Opt for bubble wrap coloured to match your brand. At Mac-Graf, you can order materials in any colour, and you can also add small pictograms (e.g., related to recycling).

"One of our clients, a manufacturer of consumer electronics, was facing the issue of delicate components getting damaged during transport. Losses due to complaints and returns were significant, which negatively affected the company's financial results as well as customer reviews.

After discussions and analysis, together with the company's packing team, we introduced a new packing system that included precise cutting of foam and bubble wrap, along with training on how to properly secure the products. The result was a decrease in the number of complaints, cost savings related to replacing and repairing damaged goods, and an improvement in customer feedback regarding the quality of shipments."

      FAQ

Which side of the bubble wrap should I use to pack my products?

When packing a product in bubble wrap, it is important to ensure that the bubbles are in contact with the product, meaning the smooth side of the wrap should be on the outside. The exception to this rule is bubble wrap bags, where the bubbles are on the outside, as the bubble structure would make it difficult to insert the product into the bag.

      Is bubble wrap anti-static?

Classic bubble wrap does not have anti-static properties, but there is a special type of wrap that does. This type of wrap is typically pink in colour to make it easy to distinguish from regular bubble wrap in a warehouse.

What can be used as an alternative to bubble wrap?

Bubble wrap is a versatile packaging material – it is used both for wrapping products to cushion shocks and impacts, and for filling empty spaces in packages. An alternative for wrapping products is polyethylene foam (PE), while various types of fillers such as wood wool, paper shavings, or starch packing peanuts can be used for filling. However, it is important to remember that the choice depends on what you are sending and the type of transport being used.

Can I order bubble wrap in colour?

Yes, at Mac-Graf we can produce custom-coloured bubble wrap for you. It depends on how much material you want to order. You can get a quote by contacting our advisor.

What is bubble wrap with foam used for?

Bubble wrap with PE foam is a type of laminate that offers the highest level of protection. It is used to secure heavy items and those with sharp edges. It is commonly used in the furniture industry.

      Is bubble wrap eco-friendly?

Bubble wrap is made from synthetic material, but the bubble wrap produced at Mac-Graf, as well as packaging items (sleeves, half-sleeves, bags, sheets), are recyclable at a rate of 95-100% (Grade A). We also use regranulate in the production process.

What is the use of bubble wrap?

Bubble wrap is a very versatile packaging material. It protects products during transport from impacts and shocks – it is suitable for securing both delicate items (glass, ceramics) and heavy items (furniture, bathroom fixtures). However, it is important to choose the right type of bubble wrap for the product being packed. Bubble wrap is also a popular filler for empty spaces. In this case, an alternative to regular bubble wrap is FILL&WRAP with larger bubbles, which more effectively fills empty spaces due to its bigger bubbles. It is also an insulating material, so suitable variants of the wrap are used in construction and gardening.

Mac-Graf - bubble wrap manufacturer - discover the key properties of our material

Bubble wrap is one of the most versatile packaging materials available, widely appreciated for its excellent cushioning and protective properties.

Its structure—polyethylene layers with air bubbles trapped in between—effectively shields products from shocks, impacts, and compression. The film’s flexibility allows it to wrap snugly around any item, providing a perfect fit without scratching or damaging the surface. In addition to absorbing impact energy, bubble wrap also offers a barrier against moisture, dust, and dirt, ensuring products remain safe during storage or transport.

One of the key advantages offered by Mac-Graf, a trusted bubble wrap manufacturer, is the material’s high resistance to stretching and tearing. Even in demanding logistics conditions, the film remains durable and intact, delivering reliable protection in both warehouses and during long-haul shipping.

Thanks to its design, bubble wrap also has insulating properties—it protects products from temperature fluctuations and can serve as an extra thermal insulation layer. What’s more, it’s extremely easy to use. No tools are required—simply wrap the item and, if needed, secure it with tape. That’s it. The packing process is quick, intuitive, and hassle-free.

Protective packaging with large-bubble wrap used to secure a textile item during storage or transport

Bubble Wrap from a polish manufacturer - wide range of applications across industries

Bubble wrap produced in Poland is widely used across various sectors of industry, commerce, and logistics. Its primary function is to protect products from mechanical damage, but its potential applications go far beyond that.

In e-commerce, bubble wrap is a go-to packaging material for fragile items such as electronics, glassware, or ceramics. Its flexibility allows it to tightly wrap objects with irregular shapes, preventing them from shifting during transit.

In the furniture industry, bubble wrap protects delicate surfaces—such as glass, lacquered, or wooden elements—from scratches and damage during transportation. In the automotive sector, it is used to protect car parts, and also serves as a spacer and cushioning material in bulk packaging.

Bubble wrap is also indispensable in logistics, enabling safe storage and transportation of various products. In the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries, it plays a key role in protecting fragile packaging and shielding goods from external factors such as moisture or dirt. Thanks to its unique properties, bubble wrap also finds applications in the food industry, where it is used to protect fruits and vegetables during storage and delivery.

Bubble Wrap - manufacturer offers various types and product specifications

Mac-Graf’s bubble wrap is available in a variety of types and specifications to suit different packaging needs. The primary division includes two-layer and three-layer films.

The two-layer bubble wrap is offered in two versions:  Lightweight (B-1) – ideal for smaller or less demanding items. Reinforced (B-2) – designed to protect heavier or more fragile products. The key difference between these variants lies in their grammage and protection level.

For applications requiring enhanced cushioning, we offer three-layer bubble wrap, which provides even better shock absorption. This variant comes in: Standard (B-3). Reinforced (B-4). Our bubble wrap films are available in grammages ranging from 30 g/m² to 150 g/m², and in widths from 0.15 m to 2 m, ensuring a precise fit for your specific requirements.

Mac-Graf also manufactures bubble wrap in the form of sheets, as well as bags, tubing, and half-tubing. We also offer perforated bubble wrap, allowing for easy tearing of sections to predefined lengths. For branding purposes, customers can also request digitally printed bubble wrap, providing an excellent opportunity to personalize packaging and enhance brand visibility.

Bubble Wrap - bags, tubing and half-tubing

Bubble wrap bags are available in a variety of sizes and thicknesses, allowing you to easily choose the right option for the dimensions of the product you want to pack.

Tubing and half-tubing are ideal for packaging irregularly shaped or larger items, offering flexibility and protection for non-standard goods. A modern alternative to traditional bubble wrap is Fill & Wrap – a solution that features larger air bubbles, delivering superior cushioning and more effective void fill in parcels. As a result, Fill & Wrap not only protects products from shocks but also reduces material usage, making it a smart choice both economically and environmentally. All Mac-Graf bubble wrap films are fully recyclable.

Thanks to the high durability of our films, you can minimize product damage, leading to greater savings and improved supply chain security.
