Specifics of the furniture industry

In the furniture industry, packing can be quite a challenge – as products are often large in size (sofas, closets, armchairs, etc.). In addition, it is not uncommon for a single company to produce a very diverse assortment that requires a completely different approach to packaging especially when the surface of individual products is delicate like lacquered fronts or leather upholstery.

Our team has been working with manufacturers and distributors of furniture of all sizes and shapes – from chairs to large lounge sets – for more than a dozen years. Bubble (bubble) foil for the furniture industry

Bubble wrap is suitable for protecting virtually any type of furniture – upholstered, lounge, garden furniture. Our customers choose the type of wrap depending on the value of the goods to be shipped, the method of sale, transshipment points and the length of the route to the final recipient.

This is the best protection, which among our customers is often used instead of the two layers previously used – HDPE film and corrugated cardboard. This allows for good protection and cost savings, as well as reducing the storage space used for material storage.

This is a very handy form of material that eliminates the need for cutting. In addition, its edges then look very neat.

Make it easier to interleave individual flat elements, protecting them from scratches. They are great for under goods stacked on a pallet to stop water and moisture getting into the products from underneath. We send them to customers as collective packages.

Easy adaptation of packaging to different shapes and sizes

It is worth considering, after analysing the packaging system and used materials, which format of PE foam, PE film or bubble wrap will make the packing of your products faster. You may find that instead of foam rolls, sheets or pouches will be more efﬁcient in your business.

Protection against scratches and dents

Cardboard can dust, so it’s advisable to check whether PE foam, for example, would be a better solution for packing lacquered furniture.

Laminate of PE foam and bubble wrap or 3-layer bubble wrap (smooth film – bubble – smooth film) – protection from damage and no imprinted bubbles on upholstery

Polyethylene foam (instead of cardboard) – this protects painted surfaces, without the dust that can occur when packing with cardboard

Reducing the quantity of various items in stock

You can order packaging materials more often, but in smaller quantities (although the size of your order affects the final price – the more you order, the higher discount you can count on). You can also rethink your packaging system and try to reduce the quantity of items used (such as the number of layers).

The use of environmentally friendly materials

Given the multi-layered nature of the packaging system in the furniture industry, it is worth analysing whether the materials used are homogeneous in terms of recycling and whether these layers can be reduced in your case, without sacrificing packaging quality.

In addition, you can minimize waste (to be disposed of later) by ordering products made to size and/or in a form that suits your needs, e.g. PE foam rolls, bubble wrap bags, PE film half-sleeves.
