Fill & Wrap - large bubble wrap

Fill&Wrap has been developed with the e-commerce sector in mind, in which the variety of products sold, and thus the weight, size or shape, combined with standardised carton sizes (e.g. five sizes for the entire range), often leave a lot of space to be filled in the carton when securing the goods for shipment.

Depending on the packaging system used, our customers usually choose classic bubble wrap (with a small bubble), sprinkler or paper for filling, which is often a considerable cost. We decided to create a product that allows financial and time optimisation.

Thanks to its large bubbles, Fill&Wrap allows you to fill the space in the parcel more effectively – material consumption is reduced and the bubbles provide excellent cushioning during transport.

Ideal bubble wrap for shipping goods and filling empty spaces in parcels

It is a thick film similar to those found in the horticultural industry, but adapted to protect goods for shipment. It can still be successfully used as a covering for greenhouses and garden tents for growing vegetables, with the difference that the technological process omits its additional UV protection, which in the case of garden films extends their lifespan to five years.

Conditions in which other materials, or variants thereof, reach the limits of their strength, for Fill&Wrap bubble wrap is a natural working environment.

This film can also be used to wrap products – especially larger and/or heavier ones. Due to the large size of the bubble, a product wrapped with such a film gains very effective protection against any damage due to falling, crushing, puncturing or puncturing, and is also protected against dust, moisture and other external factors.

Optimisation of packaging time

The use of Fill&Wrap film with large bubbles, reduces warehousemen’s working time when packing shipments.

Thanks to the larger bubbles, filling the empty spaces in the cartons is faster and more efficient. Warehouse staff no longer need to spend as much time unwrapping the product, picking it up and placing it in the parcel. Although individually the time difference may seem insignificant, with the large scale of parcels being shipped, the change becomes significant. Not only does this mean time savings, but also a reduction in operational costs associated with packaging, resulting in a more efficient process.

FAQ

Is bubble wrap with large bubbles suitable for packaging small products?

When packing small items, classic bubble wrap (with small bubbles) is more suitable due to the fact that it is more flexible. The large bubbles in FILL&WRAP film make it less flexible, making it more suitable for filling empty spaces, wrapping larger items and protecting flat surfaces.

Is the large bubble wrap recyclable?

Much depends on how it is produced. The film produced by Mac-Graf is 100% recyclable.

Why are the bubbles in bubble wrap not fully filled with air?

The bubbles in both FILL&WRAP bubble wrap and classic bubble wrap should never be filled to the maximum with air. The free space in the bubble ensures that it does not burst under the pressure of the item being wrapped in it. The air has the opportunity to move within the bubble, protecting the product more effectively against bumps and shocks. In addition, the film can distribute pressure evenly. Too much air could lead to deformation of the film, making it difficult for it to adhere evenly to the packaged item.
