Acrylic tape

What type of tape should be chosen for packaging in low temperatures?

Packaging in low temperatures requires selecting the appropriate tape, as otherwise, it may peel off as the temperature decreases and with prolonged exposure. Opt for packaging tapes with natural rubber adhesive, which work at temperatures down to -25°C. If securing goods at very low temperatures, such as in industrial freezers, aluminum tapes are the best option. It’s important to note that adhesives work best at temperatures above 5°C.

Remember to check the specific product’s specifications before purchase, as they provide information on the maximum and minimum temperatures at which the tape retains its properties during use and transport.

What type of tape is suitable for packaging in summer?

Much depends on the temperature, and it’s worth considering this to avoid overspending.

Acrylic adhesive tapes are a great choice for summer, as they are resistant to high temperatures (up to about +50°C) and UV radiation.
Hot-melt adhesive tapes (synthetic rubber) are suitable for intensive use in high temperatures (up to about +40°C). They provide excellent initial adhesion, which is important for quickly sealing cartons.
Solvent adhesive tapes perform well across a wide temperature range, including high temperatures (even above +50°C). They are ideal for situations where the adhesive needs to bond to difficult surfaces, such as wet or dusty ones.

What is the best tape for sealing cartons?

The best tape for sealing cartons depends on their weight, storage conditions, and transportation. A universal choice for most applications is hot-melt tape (synthetic rubber), while for demanding conditions and heavy loads, solvent tapes (natural rubber) are the most suitable. For light cartons in standard conditions, acrylic tapes will be sufficient.

When should you choose tape with a large roll?

Tape with a large roll (i.e., tape with greater length, such as 150, 330, or even more meters) is suitable when efficiency, time savings, and intensity of use are crucial. The larger the roll, the less frequently you need to reach for a new product. When choosing a roll size, consider who works in your warehouse – if most of the workers are women, a large roll might be too heavy and, as a result, difficult to handle.
